INTRODUCTION
DOES THE MV MAINS CONTAIN AUDIO FREQUENCY CONTROL SIGNALS?
Some energy supply companies use higher-frequency signals in their medium voltage mains for the transmission of control
pulses and data. These so-called “audio frequency signals” ranging typically from 160 to 1350 Hz may become absorbed or dis-
torted by, or cause resonance problems with capacitor installations. Such problems may be prevented by the selection of proper
detuning reactors.
